Joseph Plateau Awards : ウィキペディア英語版
Joseph Plateau Award

A Joseph Plateau Award was an accolade presented by the Flanders International Film Festival Ghent, first given out in 1985. The Joseph Plateau Awards were given in several categories to honor achievements in Belgian film making. They were restricted to Belgian cinema and Belgian producers, directors, and actors. The name of the award comes from the Belgian physicist Joseph Plateau (1801–1883). They were considered to be the Belgian equivalent of the American Academy Awards.
In 2001, the awards ceremony was held in conjunction with the Flanders International Film Festival Ghent, which initially co-founded the event. The last award ceremony was held on 7 March 2006 in Ghent. Since then, were established the Flemish Film Awards in 2010, and the Magritte Awards in 2011.
